 I have started a Marketing job at Ridgway Rentals. The role includes the following responsibilites:

  • Photographing and adding machines to the website and other selling platforms.
  • Story creation for website and social media
  • Maintaining and improving SEO for the website
  • Using Google Analytics to identify trends
  • Working with web design teams to improve conversions and SEO
  • Creating YouTube content and thumbnails
  • Posting social media content and creating Facebook ads
  • Managing customer database using Microsoft Access
  • Creating digital mailshot artwork and posting Mailchimp adverts
  • Working with magazines to keep adverts updated
  • Designing merch, keeping stocks up to date and working with suppliers
  • Updating our website with Wordpress
  • Domain management

Making a camera out of a matchbox

I have been teaching students how to make a camera out of a matchbox.  I created this instructional video for students who wanted to make another one. You will need: Black electricians tape A needle or pin A sharp craft knife An empty roll of 35mm film with some film sticking out, you get some at Jessops or Boots An empty drinks can A black marker pen A matchbox A new roll of 35mm film.  Any type will do, but normal colour print film 100 or 200 speed works well I found the original instructions from here These are some photos I took using my matchbox pinhole camera Using the camera The Pinhole camera has an f number of about f90.  There's no need to be very accurate about exposure times when using colour print film, use the following as a rough guide when using ISO100 or 200 film. Outside, sunshine: 1 or 2 seconds Outside, cloudy conditions: 5 seconds Indoors, normal room lighting: 5 - 10 minutes
